CAS: 120-46-7
Molecular formula: C15H12O2
Structural formula:
Dibenzoylmethane, abbreviated as DBM, is used as a co-stabilizer for the calcium/zinc hydroxylate stabilizer system, and is used to make PVC (polyvinyl chloride resin) mineral water bottles. At the same time, it can also replace the stabilizers of heavy metal salt-containing inorganic PVC cable materials such as tribasic lead sulfate and dibasic lead phosphite for use in the manufacturing of wires and cables. In addition, DBM is also widely used as a stabilizer for ABS plastics (acrylonitrile, butadiene, styrene terpolymer).
